Hi all, my current engine has developed a knock so possibly moving forward a 2.1 Stroker engine I've been collecting parts to build but as this is happening before I planned I don't have the pennies to buy esl and remap etc. what options are there for running a 2.1 in a v1 /1993 car with td05 japspeed front mount and 3" exhaust. V3sti heads
It's currently using a major sarcasm EPROM chip.
Cheers
Pete

Would just want it to run safely with the 2.1 engine for now so can carry on saving for 6 speed(have injectors and turbo too) then more power.
If I had esl could I upscale a few values to run safely ? Only adding 5% displacement.
Or am I just cutting corners/gonna waste time?
Don't want to have to rebuild current engine as will cost same as finishing Stroker build.

Yea agreed your best to do it altogether, last thing you want to do is trash your newly built 2.1. ESL will be the way to go as Apexi's still seem to change hands for £250-300, plus most people charge another £300 plus to map them. And as I'm pretty sure ESL is around £600 all up including fitting/mapping it makes sense to go with the more up to date choice.

I'm pretty sure these mapping guys don't mind travelling, so hopefully someone like race dynamix on here will come to you.
