Default Anyone know what this plug does

This is the inside of a USDM 1998 subaru impreza outback sport's ecu, and I am trying to find out what the 28 pin socket is for because we have no idea over here in the states

but I see that you guys have different ecu's then we do in the US and I saw that you guys had polar performance chips and also I have seen the board from ESL but I don't know if it is as simple as getting but would eprom chips tuned for your ecu's work on our ecu's?

Just realised I posted a link to a thread you've contributed to .

The Jecs ecu's are basically the same but have different maps installed to suit vehicle and market emissions etc.

As with Ecutec, who now cover the US as well as a lot of other markets, it may be worth speaking to ESL or Polar to see if any US versions of the Jecs ecu's are catered for.

I think any Eprom whould need to be vehicle model specific but as the ESL daughterboard is "live mappable" then I'd expect it can be mapped to suit.

being live mapable would it be easier to find out the command addresses for ecu or is it kind of like open source?

Probably, but my knowledge of actual mapping is limited...............

better yet do you know if they make tuning software for eprom chips making it similar to tuning a piggyback or stand alone or open source
