Anyone know what this plug does
This is the inside of a USDM 1998 subaru impreza outback sport's ecu, and I am trying to find out what the 28 pin socket is for because we have no idea over here in the states

but I see that you guys have different ecu's then we do in the US and I saw that you guys had polar performance chips and also I have seen the board from ESL but I don't know if it is as simple as getting but would eprom chips tuned for your ecu's work on our ecu's?

Just realised I posted a link to a thread you've contributed to .
The Jecs ecu's are basically the same but have different maps installed to suit vehicle and market emissions etc.
As with Ecutec, who now cover the US as well as a lot of other markets, it may be worth speaking to ESL or Polar to see if any US versions of the Jecs ecu's are catered for.
I think any Eprom whould need to be vehicle model specific but as the ESL daughterboard is "live mappable" then I'd expect it can be mapped to suit.
