Feeling defeated with my blob eye
In struggling big time now with my wrx Impreza
I have a problem with on occasion the ecu will not power and the fuel pump will run constantly on ignition I due for another remap and really need this to be sorted I need help but it’s an intermittent fault
it’s a simtek ecu less than 10 months old
so my big question is what can cause no power to ecu and constant power to fuel pump
after a while it will just engage engine management light will show and main relay will click fuel pump will stop and it will start
the main relay has been changed
I’ve made sure the main ground in the engine bay is good by moving to the the block
I’m just waiting for it to go again for me to retest the ecu pins

Might seem obvious but check all connections to the ECU. another thing I would look at is immobiliser. Was this changed in any way.

Does it have an aftermarket alarm?
My car went through a phase where I would turn the key the pump would prime and one of the relays would buzz like crazy.
next moment start fine and be good. Changed alsorts and then my alarm man resolved it in less than an hour. He said bad earth but I suspect it was the alarm

The only way I can replicate the issue is removing the main earth in the engine bay
But as I thought this was the issue I have checked the loom to the main connector
I have the moved the earth to the engine block for a better surface
I have then spliced into the loom and added an extra ground back to the inlet just to eliminate if it’s a ground issue
but again it does it intermittently
