Default ESL GC8 Track Car map

Gents,

I have been mapping my car for a few about a month now and was at a trackday recently with no boost or det issues(that i know of or knocklink or ESL detected) but on my spec, i feel my base and ig timing is high and feel i should be detting but it keeps allowing an increase and IAM always stays at 16.

Std GC8 1998, FMIC, FPR, Filter, Full exhaust, knocklink.

Boost does drop off badly on the turbo so maybe that is why high up i can add timing? how far do most go?

Thoughts?

im terrible with those graphs so cant quite see whats going on as suh BUT, you are using a massive amount of maximum WGDC, should be nowhere near in the 90`s at full throttle after 4800 rpm especially just to achieve 1.2 bar when ur target is 1.46 have you chekd your up pipe for leaks or IC piping ?
You either have super effiecient FMIC but on my TMIC with excellent cold air feed at 1.4 bar i cant get above 19 degrees at WOT after 4000 rpm

The ESL software doesnt log DET out of closed loop

Also youtr IAM after reset is wrong, shouldnt be 16 as its not learning, set it to 8

hi yes remember i have a crap turbo on the 98, very restrictive and non adjustable actuator.
i think this turbo is restrictive and will always stuggle high in the revs and drop to approx 1.2bar, it may hold better in 4th pull. Maf reading still climbing well. as my boost drops low i can add timing in higher up in the rev range (i do need det cans) but my zeitronix zt2 always shows good afr right through the range of 11.
my fmic is ok, cheap but works and keeps temps at that boost cool.

after the next track day i think ill take off road a while and do a build with 6speed. at 4200 my WGDC is now 61% and holds and i have the curve flatter now with no spikes.
