Default What Mods do I need?

Okay..I have a 05 STI, currently running 320bhp.

Car came with the following Mods
  • Upgraded fuel pump,
  • Haywood & Scott Down pipe 3>2.5
  • Cobra turbo back 2.5" exhaust
  • Pro R Pannel Filter
  • Remap

I am thinking S42 or the Mdx555-450 turbo - have another thread for this .

Getting mixed reviews about a FMIC..also should I consider different wrapped headers?

Wondering what other mods I need...so that I can start sourcing these ..

Aiming for 400bhp+

I dont mind getting maps done in stages..

Given your last post wanted limited lag, the least lag and most cost effective option is the STI TMIC but at 400hp you may have inlet temp issues. There are other TMIC (grimmspeed, ARC, Chevron) options out there but if you're planning lots of high temp load running (track/autobahn blasts) then FMIC would be the sensible option.

GT spec/RCM/Lateral headers will allow more flow top end to make getting 400 easier but IMO you'd be better off getting ported headers and uppipe for better response lower down.

There is a set of Denso in the for sale section...

The standard injectors may struggle at over 400. I've changed to 650's for my planned 450hp. will hopefully leave me a little headroom to run meth at a later date.

Little over £400... however how are these any different from Denso or RCM 1050.. is the difference noticable?

Also will I need something that big?

Was told 600's will be too small..as they will be close to maxing out..and to look for denso 750...

Theyre £400 from H-Tune. AS Performance can probably supply them at a similar price maybe less. Great service from them too.

The RCM ones are £539 and they look very similar. If I didn't any better i'd say that's about £140 of RCM tax on the same injectors...

I managed to get near as makes no difference 400hp from 555cc Nismo injectors.
