Default 07 STI air pump removal

My cold start air pump is noisy. I believe it can be removed and the ecu reprogrammed.
Is this correct?
What's involved?
Can any engine mapper sort the ecu?
Thanks

ECU tweak and generally left in place until you have access to it, like clutch change or engine out, although it's possible but time consuming to do in situ. Just had mine removed

With ecutek you can literally disable it so that it doesnt run, run time set to zero

On removing all the valves you need to be careful from 07 onwards as there is an absolute pressure sensor mounted on top of one of the valves which when removed can cause map issues as ive been finding out - Ended up having to cut the pressure sensor of top of valve to refit and hopefully make mapping a lot smoother/better.

Thanks for the advice. I was planning to take it all out but may just leave it there for now.
Can any engine mapper tweak the ecu? I assume it's not a diy job.

If you remove it you will need to fit the 2x blanking plates to the back of the heads, which is the correct way to do it. If you leave it in place and just unplug it there is a chance a valve may stick open and cause problems.

As above, all codes can be turned off by any mapper using any software or even opensource.

Thanks. That's another job on the list.
