Tensioner/belt help ??
Ok so I've watched tonnes of videos of rod knock sounds etc and I'm pretty sure the sound I might be hearing from my poorly subie doo is the tensioner knock. . It seems when they go they knock very similar to rod knock
my question is if it turns out too be the tensioner should I replace the while timing belt, tensioner and idlers etc ? If the belt is in good nick and it does turn out to be the tensioner am I thinking I can use grips to keep the belt in its current position on the car so it doesn't slip teeth ?
forgive the noob question I'm keen to learn what I can about these engines, it's one thing id like to tick off my bucket list is too know a subie engine very well .
thanks in advance for any help .

Thanks, I kinda thought I'd need the whole kit but being new to all this i thought I'd ask, is there any kits in particular I should stay away from at all ? Or any kits that's recommended ?
