IAT sensor & Boost Solenoid - ESL
Hi to all,
I have a couple of question about my ESL ecu that I have into my Impreza V4 and I'm not able to solve/understand.
- IAT ---> given this datasheet http://www.bosch-motorsport.com/medi...2650379pdf.pdf how I should set the parameters into ESL? I cannot sort out "Do the difference or gradient first, offset second." . Maybe it's an easy answer but I'm getting crazy...
- Solenoid ---> Mine OEM 2 ports is starting to have some issue so I was lookig to replace with a Pierburg one but I kindly ask which model I can use and how to adjust the "MAP sensor" values. For the min and max boost duty map I understood that a 30% less values than now can be a good starting point (obviously need a double check with boost gauge, AFR, etc..). I wrote to Andy and he suggested me the OEM one but the original ones are too much pricey in my opinion.
If you need more details just ask and thanks in advance.
Roberto
PS car was already mapped mafless by a tuner last year but for personal knowledge I like to understand the map process and be able to improve or adjust the map if needed.

Since you have the same like me do you have already the values?
And about the solenoid someone has an idea?
Thanks and regards

The restrictor pill need to be removed when moving from 2 to 3 port?
I read that someone is keeping but I'd like to understand what's wrong removing it.
Thanks again

Diagrams of the two systems here: http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...tedIssues#toc4
EDIT - That Scoobypedia article has a good description of what the restrictor is actually doing in both a 2-port and 3-port setup.

on a 2port solenoid the restrictor pill limits flow from the compressor nipple to the T piece where the 2port bleed valve and bleed off a controllable amount of pressure going to the wastegate. Because a 3port is interrupt and not bleed type the restrictor pill goes on the vent port (the one that normally goes back to the intake pipe) so as to reduce the amount of flow bled off from the system when it's active. This helps for a smoother response when shooting for lower boost targets but generally the pill is removed on a 3port to allow higher boost targets to be achieved.
