Default Best entry level data logger

Hi,
I`ve been having repeated misfire codes come up, and would like to log relevant data for my mapper to look at, and I am guessing that simple app based software like Torque won`t log the correct data for analysis ?
Do I have to use something laptop based, like Romraider, or is there a simpler way ? I would like to reset the codes as well.
Many thanks

id say romraider would be best as you can log a lot of parameters which will be of use to a mapper. it can turn off codes etc as well.

No, can be a PITA for some to set up, go to the RR site and read, read and read some more, then try.

Just been there ! A vag com cable will suffice for just logging; are they all much the same, and can you reset codes with them ? Thanks

*most* of the vag com leads I've seen work just fine, but there are some humpy ones which I'm guessing use a more unusual chipset. You can clear temporary codes but permanently disabling a code means a reflash which it won't do for you.
