Default Any problems with engine breaking

Hi All

As my scooby is the first turbo charged car I have owned I just wanted to know if engine breaking is ok and has no ill effects on the turbo's life, don't want to destroy the turbo. Cheers

I hardly use my brakes at all in normal road driving and my turbo has 130k miles with no apparent ill effects.

Main areas of care as far as I am concerned is to ensure it is well warmed before hammering it and if hot let it cool slowly before switching off.

No issues, mechanically. Helps against wearing and cooking brake pads and warping discs.

Obviously be wary of lift-off oversteer though

Tell me about it! LOL. But i had no choice or it was to run into a central lane divider fence. I just ran out of road! Then underpants when the oversteer came on. Bloody hell me thought!

Be thankful it didn't bite and snap back the other way before you could catch it, they have a nasty habit of doing that.

Yes true, discs are cheaper than rear quarter panels!
