Default can you answer this ?

hi guys quick question i have a mate just rang me one of his belts as snapped on his wagon its the belt that works the alternater and pulley next to power steering is the car safe to drive home or not ....

If it has air con,then their the same belts.Swop them over,then you can drive it as long as you like! If not,then the battery will die very quickly.

it does have air con. how easy are they to swap over mate? (my car btw)

Their easy to swop,you'll need a 12mm socket and a small extention will help. The alternator and air con pump both have an adjuster,and a locking bolt. Undo the locking bolt(pointed forward,on a sloted guide)then slacken off the top adjuster bolts,which will allow you to remove the belts,then install in reverse order,it'll all become cleare when you have a look,job done!

Even without, the battery will last at least 20 miutes (keep other electrical load down!) and he will have to heave it without PAS, but it is driveable.

sorted it now people thanks for your help got the two belts from halfords and new bolts for the alternator for under £15!
