Default Rear Diff? Click Sound

Hi

i can here a sort of click click sound coming from the rear (pasenger side) of my V5 type R when applying and releasing throttle abruptly ... do you think it is drivetrain or suspension related please?

My mecchanic is telling me it is normal diff lash due to a paddle clutch fitted to the car .... what do you think guys?

regards,

It may be the plates in the rear diff (asuming yours is DCCD with plate rear?), it won't have anything to do with a paddle clutch!

Had this on my V5 type R. There was a post on here about the centre hub nut backing off slightly and causing a clicking noise. I checked with RCM and there is no specific torque setting for the nut. I tightened mine up using a socket and breaker bar and it went away - worth a try.

Not sure if my problem is the same but i have slight play in my rear diff and have been advised that although it is not bad, I would be best to replace it. A lot of the problem for me though has been inner CV joint related.

Hi guys,
Ive read on a few american forums about this and they claim they know how to fix it... very simple, well worth a try

Basicaly just buy new hub nuts (The nut that hold the driveshaft into the hubs), replace and torque them back up to factory spec. there is about 20-30 pages on one thread of people saying thanks cos it has fixed the problem. Worth a try, i havent got around to doing mine yet cos my engine has just broke going to put a post in the gen tech part of the forum in a min about it.

Anyway if anyone tries this before me let us know if it has worked!
Cheers
