I have a 97 uk turbo and am having it decatted tomorrow.Im also having a dawes device fitted and the mechanic said hes gonna up the boost to the max the ecu will let it.


How much more bhp am i looking at from both mods?

Make sure he knows what he's doing mate. Best invest in a knocklink if you are upping the boost to keep your eye on things.

My decat and induction kit on my UK97 turbo took me to about 251 bhp with 1.1 boost IIRC.

it detects detonation and pinking mate. Potentially saves you from wrecking your engine. Visibly alerts you.

Mine runs @ 1.1bar but it was remapped to suit. You would be mad to up the boost more than a fraction w/o remap. Oh & I have a knocklink....

He might well think he is, but anybody who has prescribed what your after is certainly going nowhere near my car.
if he's this good, he will know where fuel cut is, which is that absolute max you can (unsafely) go to without a defencer.
Dont get me wrong, what your doing is a great way to extract more power/torque as long as the correct monitoring is in place BEFOREHAND.

your "expert" will have already told you what you need.

Knocklink and some form of AFR display as the absoute minimum.
