Found this on the us site www.scoobymods.com

I guess it will have been posted already on here a while back. But was there ever a recall in the UK? I have read numerous posts on MAF failure in the MY99. What was the verdict?
"I know this is nothing new but, I've been seeing posts regarding the MAF recall for the 99MY.
If you haven't gotten your letter go here to check if you are effected :

Have your VIN ready to sign up and you can get good info on your car including recalls
Here is a cut and paste from the info:
Program Number:

Year of Recall: 2002

This service has not yet been performed. You can call Dale Martens Subaru at (785) 843-3522 to set an appointment today.
Program Title:
Air Flow Meter Sensor
Summary:
Subaru of America, Inc. has determined that the air flow meter sensor on your Subaru vehicle requires replacement. The air flow meter sensor is part of your vehicle’s engine/emission control system and is monitored by the On-Board Diagnostic system. Should this component operate improperly, the engine idle may become unstable and the “CHECK ENGINE” warning light will illuminate steadily while the engine is running. Please contact your Subaru dealer and schedule an appointment to replace the air flow meter sensor with replacement parts at no cost to you. We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but we have taken this action to assure your vehicle’s proper performance."

Id love to know how much Subaru have made from MY99/00 MAF sensors :rolleys: Seems criminal really.
They were sneaky and only sold it as a complete unit, until someone on here revealed you can buy the element on its own. To$$ers.
Must have made tens of thousands...

MPH Not sure what you mean by a PIN number?
The message was as posted in the scoobymods.com forum....have you tried to get into the subaru (US) site?
It begs the question why if the recall was in the states why has there been no recall in the UK? Considering recent posts regarding MAF failures, leading to blown engines etc. Customer service appears to be better in the US.
Cheers
