I´m about to fit a decat uppipe. Can I just disregard the egt probe
and plug the hole as not to destroy it. I would like to keep it in good condition if I should need it later on. I know I´ll have to install a 2.2 ohm resistor but where and how please?
Thanks in advance
Claus

Its 2.2 K ohm and must be rated at over 1 watt. Yes, you could just block the hole if using the resistor. Our up pipes come with a stainless bung for this purpose.

Thanks for the help.
Unfortunately I didn´t buy your exhaust. Had I done so I wouldn´t have to replace my downpipe every time I´m going to MOT, but could just stick in the original last cat. Why didn´t anybody on here tell me that a Magnex downpipe would replace both cats in one go?hmm! Well my own fault I guess. I should have checked better before buying. On the other side, now I´m sure to pass MOT since I´ll have to go there with two cats.

How does this resistor thing look like? Went to the local eletronics shop and the different models they showed me certainly didn´t look like they would fit into the female connector for the EGT sensor. The thing he showed me looked like a little bug with its two thin iron legs. Am I supposed to U bend those two legs and solder them into the female connector or just plug them in there somewhere. When I unplug the male from the female it looks more like a fuse shaped thing will fit there.
Confused.

Just U bend the legs of the resistor and insert them into the female connector (one leg in each hole). You might need to shorten the legs a bit if they are too long. Then put some isolating tape on top of the connector to help keeping the resistor in place and to avoid dirt to get in.
