Scoobysport BB and DP
#1
Had these fitted this week and they sound great but they have completely transformed the car from a turbo, to feeling like a normally aspirated car. Having owned a turbo (Rover coupe and now Scooby) for the last five and a half years, this is a completely different experience for me. I assume this is what it is supposed to be like. I have an ITG pro filter fitted as well.
The car doesn't seem fast anymore (no kick at 3000rpm) but when I glance at the speedo when accelerating (from 2000rpm), it certainley goes up quickly. I just can't work out if it is faster or not.
Is this normal?

The de-cat DP allows the turbo to spin up quicker, so it starts around 500rpm lower down. Hence the turbo kick is probably smoothed out a little.
Unless something is wrong, a DP + BB should give you a bit more power (circa 10 to 20BHP is common)

I do think it is quicker but it just doesn't feel like it.
A Dawes device (plus AFM & Boost gauge) is next on the cards but as the car is 3 years old (less than 15k miles) I think it will be best to do the cambelt first. Anyone know where I can get a cambelt cheaper than a dealer's?

P.S. Also need 4 new tyres, so there goes any bonus I may get soon.

I'll be interested to know how you get on James as I'm considering this configuration

had exactly this with mine after downpipe all the way back system... does it feel flat as a fart mid range??? if so, i went to have a small middle box put in where the second cat normally is and this created enough turbulence in the exhaust to give some back pressure... goes fine again now, and bangs and pops away merrily hope this helps....
