Yours running ok? got mine from Pipex last week, when I first connect it seems to drop the line a few times and the modem retrain, then it's fine for hours!

Greg

Yep, it has dropped once when I first connected but has been fine for the last hour.

Just downloaded the NAV 02 from Pipex which took about 14 minutes for 38mb. According to the ADSLguide speedtest, I am averaging 366 down and 220 up - downstream seems below average but it depends on traffic I suppose.

I've been running the Fujitsu ADSL modem on Pipex for a few months now (bought mine though) and I have never had a problem with it dropping the line and re-training.

When you initially boot up, it can take a few secs for the modem to train, but once done it's fine and I have left it connected for days at a time with no problem.

Really impressed with ADSL and if I go to anywhere with 56k now, you realise just how bad it was!

What sort of d/l speeds you getting and pings for games?

I assume you're all running good AV software and a firewall?

Rick - I have Zonealarm, and just about to install Norton 2002 as provided free by Pipex

Glad to hear Pipex and the Fujitsu modem are OK.

My activation date is 05.06 and I am sending my 56K modem for xchange tomorrow.

Yeah, it is very quick to setup and get online!

You need to run the free Norton Anti Virus software (get off Pipex website) and a decent firewall (i.e. Zone Alarm, which is free) to make sure your system is secure and you are protected.

Then, away you go...

Simon - Well, looking at a house round the corner from you, but not seen inside yet so I dunno if I'll buy it or not. Will be going for a proper look this weekend I think.
