Default How do you go about buying a website address?

As title, but without having to get someone to do it for you. A broker or something I think it was called.

If you want them, or someone else to host a website for you, they will normally include the domain name registration for free.

You can't buy a domain name that is already registered. You have to wait until the domain registration expires and hope the current owner doesn't renew it.

I'm not a huge Go Daddy fan, but the instructions are simple.

Got mine from here. Very cheap and good service. Even built my own websites & put them online with no previous experience. Very easy to do!

Should be fun then! I have 5 domains with them at the moment. God help me! lol

Is it easy to transfer the domains & hosting to another company?

If everything is fine with them now then stay, transferring should be easy, but leave plenty of time as they're known to make it difficult.

I think this is only for when you own the site already isn't it?

do a whois search, if you are lucky the registered owner will be listed with some contact details. Send an email to them stating your request and see if they are open to offers. They can only say no (and usually do )
