Start, run, "control userpasswords2" will also show all users

Go into Start -> Control Panel > User Accounts - which will give you the list of all the users on your system. From there you *should* be able to figure out which is you .... You should have had to set up a user when you first logged onto the system

"If" you only have the one user the control panel should show 3 in total: Administrator, Guest and 'you'.

Hopefully ....

Okay cheers guys appreciate the info but unfortunatly not really any further forward !!

okay when I first start up my computer I get a log in screen showing " J_ohn " and from there I just enter my password and then the computer loads up.

if I Go into Start -> Control Panel > User Accounts I get the one above which is described as computer administrator and another account known as guest ( says guest account is turned off )

so from that you could safely say " J_ohn " is my user name yes ??

Should I have a third user as you say ??

Windows live messenger used to have that feature built in. Not sure if it still has.
