Advice computer name ??
Windows xp - how do I find out the user name on my pc as opposed to the computer name, trying to set up a 2x app on android and been entering my ip address and what I thought was my computers name but seems its the computers user name you enter .
bit confused ??!! |
Hmmm. Not as simple as I thought. You obviously have the PC set to log you in automatically when you boot up?
Go into Start -> Control Panel > User Accounts - which will give you the list of all the users on your system. From there you *should* be able to figure out which is you .... :wonder: You should have had to set up a user when you first logged onto the system "If" you only have the one user the control panel should show 3 in total: Administrator, Guest and 'you'. Hopefully .... :thumb: Dave |
Start, run, "control userpasswords2" will also show all users :thumb:

Should I have a third user as you say ?? |
Ctr-alt-del lock it then it will say machine is locked by .....
|
Sorry mate could you run that by me again, press Ctr -alt-del- lock button ?? did not even know there was a lock button ??!! or is this a process within windows task manager that is an option when CTR-alt-del is pressed ??
