Anyone with win 2k pro
#2
Is this for a re-install or a problem?
Have you had a look at 'Ultimate Boot Disk' on http://www.startdisk.com?
They have sorted most things for me.
Also, the Win2k CD is bootable.

Come on SOOPA SI, get that CD booted. The computer doesn't give a toss if there's anything on the harddisk to do this - all handled by the BIOS.
Saying that, my old Abit MOBO refused to boot any kind of bleedin' CD so don't worry if it doesn't work, just use a simple little Win98 boot disk like da man says.

Are you using SCSI CDRom? I previously have had nightmares trying to install W2K from one of them Had to have an IDE CDRom and start from that.
Rush of memories of pain in the bum installs Did it eventually but didn't need to u/grade from W98 - if I think of anything more, I'll post it.

Puff, its true what he says - some of the abit boards had major troubles booting ide cdroms!
SI, just go down the win98 boot disk route mentioned to you. That will give you access to your win2k cd and setup program.
Have fun.
