Default How do i limit how far the mouse pointer can move on screen?

Just got a new computer running windows 7 and just getting used to it having come from using XP, when i move mouse pointer to left of screen it hits edge of screen and wont go no further, same at top of screen, but at right hand side of screen and also at botton of screen if i keep moving mouse then cursor will go off screen and i end up loosing where it is-been looking round on computor and i find options for double click speed etc but nothing to limit how far cursor can move-anyone know how to change it please?

Are you sure this isn't an issue with screen res? Or maybe the mouse itself - it's having issues scrolling back from the right/lower edge.

Also how do you know there is more screen there if you cannot see it? I think the cursor is pointing left and up (on XP it is), so if you move it to the right hand side or down, it is effectively off screen, so you can't see it, but it's just there right at the edge. Just move the mouse back to the middle?

Or what about a dual monitor setup - the PC thinks there is another monitor attached to the right or below and so the mouse is on that desktop?

Might be a problem with it thinking there is 2 monitors tho-as last night under system properties it was showing as 2 monitors when i only have one-so i deleted one but today showing 2 again so deleted 1 again,is it thinking i have 2 because i have 2 display leads going into one monitor- a dvi lead and a svga lead?

Just changed resolution as a test and wnet down to smallest size that i used to use on a 14" screen and still mouse went off screen.

Having two leads will make the machine thing you have two monitors, and I'd guess this is your problem. Why do you need two display leads going into one monitor?
