Itunes wireless solution needed
I have itunes on my main pc & would like to be able to listen to music in certain rooms so need a cost effective solution (cheap )
I now have the itunes remote on both my touch & iphone so being able to go through the music isnt an issue.
I also know that loading the above with music & using a dock (which i do) would be a decent solution but i like the way i can choose stuff from the remote.
Thanks

It is a solution whereby you can plug in this item near your speakers. It is wi-fi enabled and uses an audio cable to go from it to your hi-fi.
Then in itunes you will see a new source come up which allows you to select either the computer or remote speakers. Hence you get the music piped wirelessly into another room
Apple - AirPort Express
You can of course use other multi room products which do something similar

Airport Express. It's basically a wireless base station. it has an ethernet, USB and 3.5mm minijack which supports analog or digital output.
The way I have mine setup is that it's extending the range of my existing wireless network, and I've got an ethernet cable plugged into it which goes to my xbox, thus allowing me to access my local network and the internet. I've also got a 3.5mm to red and white RCA lead plugged into the 3.5 mm output on it. The other end goes into my AC Amp.
I've got the express set up so it acts as a pair of speakers (AirTunes) and when I run iTunes I can see/select the base station as a pair of speakers. Any music played will be routed to the express and play through whatever is connected to it, in other words, it'll go through my AV setup.
You can have multiple express' and thus multiple AirTunes "speakers", so you could have the music playing throughout the house.

Another Airport Express user here. It's work very well. I've got a similar setup to Markus. Very easy to setup. The only thing you will probably need is the RCA to 3.5mm lead, which is readily available from any number of hifi shops.

Thus the computer could be upstairs and you could sit in the living room, where you have an Airport Express setup to act as an AirTunes speaker and you then use the iPhone/iPod Touch and Remote.app to control what is playing.
I've just double-checked the above by doing what I state and it does indeed work. The only pain is having to ensure iTunes is running, because if it's not then the Remote app won't connect to your library.

Mine travels with me everywhere, not just for tunes but for quickly setting up a wireless network in hotel rooms. Works a treat in a very compact form.
