XP fatal errors

recently installed xp and afterloading a couple of games,tomb raider 5,grandprix3 etc,it keeps coming up with,Warning a fatal error has occured and will now close this program.
Does any one know why????
Any help much appreciated

Which program?

Whichever one it is, try running it in compatability mode.

On tomb raider5 and Grand prix3 and recently its done it when the computer has just fired up.
I have tomb raider3 loaded and that runs ok!!

Could be virtually anything. Try the usual steps :-

Windows update.
Graphics / Sound card etc driver updates.
Game patches.

Question...

Are you running an NVidia based graphics card ?

My experience with XP - must be installed from scratch, eg. don't bother upgrading from a previous version of WIndows.

For some strange reason my XP crashed continuously, then after much searching I enabled the memory check option in the BIOS which showed I had a faulty DDR memory simm
