Default 1 red light on 360? Any ideas?

hey i wondered wether anyone can help. my 360 decided to die on christmas eve, nice one mr gates!

anyway i have 1 red light on turn on, and an error screen saying error 74 or somthing, now ive searched about for info on it, tryed the old cover in towels and over heat method, which worked great! turned it on again and it worked, then i plugged my hard drive back in and it ****ed up again.

so i took it off, and turned on off, and still broke. so i removed the av cable and hard drive, and it turned on.

anyone got any ideas, im missing cod5 zombies so much im tempted just to go and buy another x box lol!

if i have to send it off to microsoft i cant be bothered, ive had it over a year and apparently it'll cost me 60 squids.

i just want to play zombies!!!!!!

help i might have to go outside soon!!

i know its no help but at least xbox's are half the price of a ps3 now so you could just buy an arcade one for around £120 and put your hard drive on that if it doesn't work .

thats what i will do when(i say when) mine goes i cannot live without cod world at war

your hard drive should be fine and when you buy an arcade version im sure you can attach a hardrive to it so your gamertag will still be the same

If its bust ring this number
0800 587 1102
If its still within the extended warranty microsoft will repair it for free, including dhl collection and return. Most of the time they send you a complete new one so why pay out? Warranty was extended to 3 years for the red rings by the way.
