Wireless modem keeps disconnecting
I have a sky wireless modem and for some reason, my laptop keeps losing the wireless connection. Try to reconnect and all is well. It will happen 3-4 times in just 10 minutes. Any ideas?

I dont know this particular modem but generally there could be a fault with the wireless adaptor or the modem. Also, if you can, try changing the wireless channel on the modem.
could be somethin else but thats my 2p worth

is it the netgear or the sagem?
If it is the netgear then it is a common problem.
have a look over Sky User - Help & Support for Sky & Sky Broadband

I had that in my old house before (cant remember the modem)
But a friend told me to turn the wireless zero configuration off, and it worked.
Start -> Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Services -> wireless zero configuration -> Properties and disable. Restart PC and see if that works. If it dont, then i aint got a clue
Hope this helps....

It is a Sagem. I couldn't remember when I posted this at work yesterday. Will have a look at the sky website.

you will need to look at wat bands your router connects on, its normally what is known as B and G band...maybe worth switching off one and seeing how you get on and switching it back over...i get this sometimes and i think its down to the router switching between bands.....

are any of your neighbours using the same channel as you? if so change channel to one that isnt used. It should be in your wireless settings in your router.

If your going to change channels, keep it to either 1, 6 or 11, or 1, 5, 9 or 13
Use Netstumbler to check for other wireless devices in your vacinity to see which channels they are using
