Actually, some quite compelling benchmarks for the 9600GT there... close call. I'd still go 8800GT and overclock it a tad, and make it fly.
I'm lucky enough to have made this decision a while ago, before anything else in the price range appeared, so have an eVGA 8800GT SSC (running at some stupid clock speed, with daft ram speed to boot). Runs well.... but came in at over £200.

Card has transformed the experience, very fluid, can crank everything up tot he max at the monitors highest resolution, COD4 looks miles better, the smoke is very impressive, going to download the Crysis demo.
Trouble is, makes me want a biggger monitor, never happy am I ?

Enjoying my 8800GT I installed yesterday. It is a cheapo Inno 3D one (not the overclock one) and it looks like the final stable overclock will be to 640/2000 (600/1800 as standard so not a huge improvement).
