Bloody hell. BT make Virgin look good!
I moved at the weekend, so had to drop Virgin as my comms provider.
Anyway, rang BT, who told me there wasn't a phone line at the flat, odd cos I had the phone number of the occupants and quoted it to them.
BT addemant that that line isn't there so want to charge me £125 connection charge.
Whilst on the phone I get told, for internet as long as I ring before weds (engineer visit) they can install www at the same time.
Ring today to be told, no they can't and will have to wait 48 hours after my lines installed before ordering, then a further 5 working days for the account to be set up.
Oh and to cap all this off. I walk into the flat on Saturday, plug the phone in and get a dial tone!!! No line my ****!!
To say I'm a little is an under statement.
Virgin on the other hand, gave me a go live date 2 days after I ordered it, and apart from 1 internet drop out, never had a problem, what pished me off with them is they threw their toys out of the pram with Sky.

Thats the corker!!!
I gave them the number of the then active account!! Guess what their "other" system could find it, but their new accounts system said there was no line there.
Can't wait to meet the engineer tonight!!!
He's going to be very pished off

BT are awful to deal with (second only to British Gas in my all-time most hated companies to deal with - I shall never use the latter again). I spent an hour last week being bounced around different call centres (often being given other numbers to ring rather than being put through) before giving up trying to report a fault on our ADSL line as - wait for it - their systems were down! I offered to give the bloke a number to call but he didn't think it was funny......

I'm sure I'm on a BT hitlist of 'we're not helping him he's always giving us grief'
I have to admit it's been a while, but I was always on the phone to them im my last job, trying to get them to sort out ADSL/ISDN connections. The line check ALWAYS came back okay......then few days later our customers reported that their line was suddenly working again.

ADSL support lines in all fairness have very very little control.
The issues tend to all require techs to have a look, were as Virginmedia support staff can do quite a lot over the phone.... well they should be able to.. india not included in this !
I've found all ADSL support lines to be really crap apart from one !
UKonline ! I kept getting through to the same girl as I called at silly times during the night and we were on a friend like basis. We would talk about our jobs and such and she would (I think) always go out of her way to try to fix my issues.Probably why there was always a queue.
In the end I settled for a 14mb connection.. should have been 24 ! but was happy cause I felt they had done all they could !
Then I got Bethere and it was 24mb so I was even happier
Now I'm with VM paying £15 a month for xxl and V+ including £1.50 for the 20mb BBI.. staff package and I couldn't be happier !
