It depends how it authenticates. If you are given a new username/password you will have to login to your router and change that.

No other changes should be required, it will pick up the new ISP etc..

To be honest, I haven't heard of them! But they appear to be okay according to thinkbroadband :: Viewing a list of posts

Oh yea u will see a massive improvement. IDNet are pretty decent, whereas Piscali are one of the worst.

Bit of a touchy subject about cable in my area. was with NTL for years then moved from 1 side if my village to the other, Moved house
2006 only to buy 1 of the few houses in the village where there is no cable.
Only found this out a couuple of days before moving in. Had been told several times it was a cabled area. Was in the process of sorting out a day for it to be fitted, when they suddenly said "oh it appears your street is a non-cabled area"

Not everywhere has cable.

I'm moving 30 miles up the road in 2 weeks. No cable so wave goodbye to a 9 yo account.

I'm not having a go and as he has already said most of the houses in his area have cable I'm genuinely interested in your reasoning for him not having cable based on his DSL connects ?? not taking the **** but you do know NTL etc use there own cables and don't share lines with ADSL ??

No. He's already said his house/street does NOT have cable, hence why he was looking at ADSL isp's! And you are takin the **** asking such a stupid question, move along...

You said

"Seeing as he was on piscali n switchin to idnet, I doubt cable is in his area!"

Which makes no sense at all !! By chance one of the houses in area (happens to be his) doesn't have cable.

So basically you were talking rubbish.

By chance? I think it was pretty obvious to be fair. You are just digging a bigger hole for yourself, my comments were not rubbish at all, pretty obvious to me that cable wasn't in his area. Who in their right mind would choose DSL over cable anyway?!?
