OK, I need a new laptop...
I don't play games, just use MS office a lot.. surf a bit.. download the odd **** clip ... so what's a good one to get?
I plan on spending up to £1K.... like the apple notebooks... it has to be wireless and have DVD RW etc...
Help me......

Nice MacBook then
Bear in mind that Macs don't come with Office as standard...... you get a 30-day trial.....
The only thing you might not like is the keyboard (I'm not overly keen on it, but I've got a MacBook Pro )
But, it does come with Airport and DVDrw.....
Failing that, Acer are pretty good for the Windows option, as are Dell (but you get what you pay for IMHO)

I'd go for a Macbook if I had a choice. You can run XP/Vista and OS X on it, so if you don't want to completely go to OS X, you don't have to.

While I agree with Markus, the license to run Bootcamp Beta (the way to install XP/Vista without 3rd party software) will run out when Leopard is released.
Of course, it will be included in Leopard and in practice will probably mean you can't download bootcamp from Apple (for free)

This is true, BC does expire when 10.5 is released on the 26th October, ie; next week, but from what's been said the even though the assistant fails to launch, you can still boot into Windows. If you wait until 10.5 is out before you purchase a new Mac then you will get 10.5 as opposed to 10.4 installed on it, so there won't be a problem.
