Default Word processing on Mac

With the impending arrival I've been looking at word processors and spreadsheets etc.

Now I can find office and Appleworks, and quite frankly I refuse point blank to pay 200+ quid for office. So apart from Works, what are my other options?

Second vote for NeoOffice. Brilliant and free, so no worries about software !
As far as I'm aware MS Office still PPC based and therefore uses Rossetta.

I might be wrong with this mind....

NeoOffice is very nice or the original OpenOffice. The one thing that I think Apple does very well is Keynote - the presentation software - it just looks a million times better than anything MS is doing (or most others for that matter).
