....remove all data from hard drive.

Thinking about selling computer and am wondering if there is any software out there that will completely destroy all crap and personal data from the hard drive?

You just hear of stories that when a comp is sold that people can still access personal data from the H/D even tho it has been formatted.

Any help appreciated.

You need to replace data rather than erasing it by striping it with binary data.

There are plenty of freeware programs that can do that, along with the free maxtor/seagate/fujitsu OEM downloadable utilities on their sites.

UltimateBootCD4Windows and Ultimate boot cd. The first does require you to do some work beforehand as it's a more elaborate boot cd, but the second allows you to download and burn an ISO file, and from them you boot from the CD and it's got various hard disk utils which you can kill the disk with.

Another really good boot disk for this kind of thing is Darik's Boot and Nuke
