Absolutely blown away...
It's not often something comes along that impresses me in the computing realm but I've been blown away this morning.
Doing labels for CDs and DVDs has always been a big PITA for me and I've never come across the ideal solution. I can take up to 4 gig of pictures on a day out and archive them off/back them up on DVD so I like the labelling to be nice with thumbnails etc.
Saw some disks on a website so thought I'd give them a go - Verbatim **Glossy** printables - printed with a Canon they are unbelievably good quality, absolutely brilliant.
The labels, applicators and the matt dvd-rs are all going in the bin!
If you label disks for yourself or family etc, give these a go. Bit more expensive but worth every penny.
In case you can't tell, they're good and I like them

Or look at a LightScribe drive, you can label them in your burner drive then. OK, not in colour, but looks smart.

Yep, you need a special printer, (it sucks the cd in and prints directly onto the surface of the disk). Even some quite cheap printers have this facility now...

Got great service from these people
CD-R Media .co.uk - Verbatim DVD-R - 16x - 'Glossy Printable' - Spindle Tub 25 - 43561 - CDR, DVDR, DVD+R and Blank Media
not ridiculous postage either like so many of them are.
I've been showing people at work and everyone (of a slightly geeky nature) has been seriously impressed.

This is the point I'm making, it's the glossies that make the difference, all the matt printables I've got will be used for little jobs like data transfer, the videos and archives will get the glossy treatment. The matts are good but don't have people going "nah, no way you did that on a sixty quid printer"
(Savastore look the cheapest for 4300's at the mo, 56 inc.)
