Default stock control software

I'm looking for something fairly basic as I only have a small parts business that hasn't been established long but I need to know what I've got in stock without physically checking. Can anyone recommend anything?

Thanks in advance

Sage Instant. Remember with any electronic stock control its only useful if it is kept upto date. If you stock alot of parts and have fast moving lines then you may want to think about barcoding to book stock in and out. If you go the accounts route (with Sage Instant starting at £99) at least you can raise sales orders that will adjust your stock automatically.

Luke,

Are you basically just looking for stock control or are you looking for financials as well?

I would also invest in some sort of decent Back-up solution to go with it as well. Such as an External Disk drive or Tape drive. The data will soon mount up and I would hate to see you lose it.

Gary,

Yeah appreciate that, the reason for the question was that if he was only interested in a bit of stock control I would have been prepared to knock something out for him.

Understood, although at £99 for Instant its cheaper to buy rather than build.

Yeah true, am all for the 'not re-inventing the wheel' and there wouldnt have been any costs involved, been writing full ERP systems (end to end including all the financial ledger stuff) for medium sized manufacturing companies for 15 years on and off so have loads of code knocking about the place.

But on reflection, I would go for the Instant route as well, was just making a friendly offer :-)
