Default How to copy music CD onto PC?

I want to put some music onto my mp3 phone. The music is on an original CD and when I use windows explorer to view the files, it only shows very small files, not WMA format. I tried using Nero to "Copy" the CD but it says its write protected and ejects the CD.

I have downloaded songs in the past onto my hard disk and used this as a means of getting tracks onto my phone. But the particular song I now want cannot be found on the net as its so rare, hence it is on this CD.

I do have a Sony MP3 player which copies off CDs no problem but I cannot seem to find where they are copied to on my hard disk using explorer. The sony software is also only user-friendly with the Sony MP3 player.

windows media player will rip an original music cd onto pc in wma format by default.

In the settings tab select "Rip Music" and then choose mp3 format to rip in mp3

You could try Ashampoo MP3 studio. It even has a sound 'Normalizer' to make all the MP3s at the same volume.
