Netgear ADSL & Dlink DL-514 wireless
Hi. my mate has got a Netgear DG834 adsl modem. Works fine, no probs.
He just went and bought a Dlink DL 514 wireless route which is made to connect to an adsl router. In stand alone mode, i.e. not connected to the netgear, its fine.
I can plug the PC into either, and I can get to the admin screen on both router boxes.
Trouble is getting a connection going into the wireless box via a ethernet cable or wirelss, through the netgear box and to the internet. It dont want to work! I wondered if it was having DHCP running on both was an issue, so I turned it off on one or the other, and still no go. Basicaly the Dlink box, through the lan cable, says that its not beeing assigned the right stuff and you get the explanation mark on the network icon. Any thoughts?

its Ok, got it sorted.
Rather strangly eneough, the ADmin IP address for the DLINK must be the 192.168.0.1, and you need to change the netgear box.
Its rather wierd, becuase there is the ability to amend it to what ever you like on the admin screen!
Cheers
