Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Edition
Anyone got one yet... I'm hovering over the 'Go to checkout button'...
Creative's Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS brings Xtreme Fidelity gaming to the PC. Endorsed by the world's leading LAN gamer and powered by the world's fastest audio processor, it delivers faster frame rates in games, featuring 64MB of X-Ram for fast loading of high-quality sounds. Additional features include front panel headphone and microphone jacks, plus a versatile remote control. CMSS-3D headphone technology supports incredible surround sound over stereo headphones, giving a stunning experience in LAN or late night gaming as well as movies. Gaming Mode dedicates 100% of the X-Fi processor to game audio, while 24-bit Crystalizer upgrades all audio, including game sounds and music, to 24-bit, restoring the sparkle lost during MP3/WMA compression. This is truly the ultimate audio upgrade for serious gamers!
- The world's fastest audio processor for ultra-fast gaming, equivalent to a Pentium 4 3.6GHz and 24 times the power of Sound Blaster Audigy.
- CMSS-3D for incredible surround sound over stereo headphones, plus stereo-to-surround up-mix for headphones and multi-channel speakers.
- 24-bit Crystalizer makes all audio sound better, including game audio and music, MP3/WMA, streaming audio and video, DivX and DVD movies.
- Active Modal Architecture with 'Gaming', 'Entertainment' and 'Audio Creation' modes dedicates the processor 100% to the required task, with an easy-to-use interface for each mode.
- 64MB of X-Ram for fast loading of high-quality audio samples.
- Perfect partner for high-end Creative peripherals and GigaWorks speakers.

Well, I'm actually in no rush, so may hold off (they only just came out, so high initial ££s).
The Audigy 2 ZS is ok, but looks like the X-Fi (judging by reviews I've seen) will free up even more CPU time via its onboard processor and memory.
Steve - Thursday 9pm is the next planned BF2 night - sort it out! Last nights was blinding, 21 people on!

Hi Steven, I've started another thread -> http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=460655
But great games last night, managed to get 375 points over the course of the evening.
You seem to be a bit of natural at this game, guess its your CS experience
We were doing great as a squad, and that guy from France that was our commander was good too

Yeah I was quite happy I managed to take a flag on foot, and defend it against the two guys that arrived in a jeep, just before you turned up in a tank God only knows how I survived the jet that crashed into my tank, when I was up on the machine gun ..

Yeah, that was Blunderbus (how appropriate is that name!)
Sorry about the 2 tk's, guess I should have warned you that under fire don't stand behind or infront of me, as I am generally looking at the enemy.
Still, hopefully Sunday night will be a good one too.
Oh, on the TK subject, one of our team didn't know what the red skull & cross bones meant and kept driving over my mines...!

Yeah I know the second time I should have looked before reversing or at least realised you'd jumped out. Still, we got some good points going when running around in APCs n tanks
