Here's an updated list of all the boards I've found.
I'm after a Micro ATX motherboard with Socket 939 fitment. There are a few out there that I have found. I'm not particularly brand concious but want the best performer coupled with a AMD Athlon 64 3000 "Venice". They all have roughly the spec I want but I'm not sure about the best chipset. Can anyone advise me of the best motherboard?
Gigabyte GA-K8A480M-9
Gigabyte GA-K8NMF-9
MSI M56K9-MLF
MSI RS480M2-IL
MSI RX480M2-IL
Asrock 939S56-M
Asrock 939A8X-M
What about the Foxconn motherboards, are they anygood?
Any advice appreciated.
Craig.

TBH I personally stick with ASUS boards, started off on them years ago then decided to try a few others, cant remember exactally what
I know one of them was a Gigibyte it had a pile of features but wasnt stable....found out it wasn't just me after installing it and searching for help with some of the errors Pretty sure another I tried was MSI but cant remember much about it !
Maybe there is no such thing as a bad board ATM ?
I would probably go for this one

I totally agree with you about ASUS boards as I'm running one at the moment, I think they are great. The problem is that they don't make a Micro ATX board with Socket 939. I can't find one anywhere.

If you go MSI be sure to check the memory QVL, they can be quite fussy with memory makes/models etc..
Shame ASUS don't have much on offer, isn't ASRock their budget company?
Happy hunting.

1 msi dead on arrival.
then the replacement had problems with one of the ram slots giving up the ghost after 12 months.
never had problem with asus (also had a gigabyte one and it worked fine).

msi, abit, asus and dfi are the best, gigabyte in my personal experience are very unstable (had quite a few throughtout the years, different chipsets but same conclusion), asus and dfi for overclockability. Epox (if they are still going are very unstable as well imho), Forget Asrock not made a decent board yet

Another vote for Asus, not overly impressed with Gigabyte (had a bad experience), and thoroughly p1ssed pff with Asrock - the greatest POS I've ever had the misfortune to buy......
