Compare the "Mfr #" on eBuyer with the ones listed at http://www.apple.com/uk/ipodmini/specs.html

Try your local Dixons or PC World, they might have them on display. Or look in MicroAnvika, inside Selfridges in Manchester or Trafford Centre. I like the blue colour

Edd,
seriously consider getting a full size iPod, ok, it's a bit more expensive, but way more capacity than the "fashion accessory" style iPod mini (you don't want to look like a poof do you? )
As for uploading CD's and MP3's, just get iTunes for Windows, add all the music to the library and then it will copy it to the iPod.

How many CD's and MP3's do you have?
I've not got the biggest collection in the world, but I've got around 6000 songs on my iPod. 98 percent of them being from the CD's the remainder being downloaded mp3's and songs from the iTunes Music Store.
The reason I went for the full size iPod is that I did not want to mess around with having to add/remove songs when I wanted to change the music on the iPod, I wanted my full music collection on there, much handier than carrying arround many MP3 CD's, or even more normal CD's
Other reason is that you can use it as a hard drive, so it's handy for storing the odd bit of data (AVI/dvix files) that I want to take somewhere with me where I'd not take the laptop
