OK, ok, I know, cheaters don't win

Anyway, for nearly every system I've owned, I've had an Action Replay device, (or Romantic Robot for the Specturm ) thus allowing me to either delve through code, or, with the PS/PS2 enter 'codes' to allow 'infinite health' and other such goodies.

I now have an xbox, and am trying to find if there is a similar device. I've got the current action replay device, but it's nothing more than a saved game loader, rather than a 'enter a code to enable cheat' type device, which is what I really want.

Are there any such devices out there? I've had a look at the AR and Gameshark and it seems that for the XBox it's just game saves, hmm, not good at all.

Any ideas?

lol, very true!

I really want it to inject some more fun into games I've completed, for example, GTA III and VC. I loved being able to boot it up on the PS2 and with total immunity, turn on the 'riot' cheat and then have a hell of a time slaughtering everything in sight

If you're modded then you can download 'trainers' to enable cheats within games. For example Halo +10 trainer unlocks:

NEVER DIE, FALL GUY, UNLIMITED AMMO, BUMP CHARACTER, SUPER JUMP, REFLECT DAMAGE, ONE SHOT KILL, CHEAT CONTROLLER, FULL CLIP

Your best best is to have a look at the saves at http://www.xbox-saves.com and see if there's a modified save for what you want.

# Change wheel size

The wheels of some vehicles will become larger, while others will become smaller. Repeat this code to increase its effect. Note: When this code is enabled a few of the vehicles get faster (for example, the Caddy, Baggage Carrier, Rancher, SUV, and Bobcat). If you load a previously saved game and enable the code again, they will get faster still. The code remains in effect while the Xbox is on. To get rid of its effect, turn off the Xbox. Also, when repeating this code after loading a saved game, other vehicles such as the Banshee and the Stinger get "heavier", allowing you to do things such as plowing through any other vehicle, and sink to the bottom of the water and keep sinking until you respawn on the road. If you enable this code, pause the game, then reload a saved game, you will be able to use the code again. You can keep doing this to make the wheels get bigger. After a little while, the car will get too tall to enter.
# Increase your vehicle's top speed

While playing a game, press Right, R, Up, White(2), Left, R, L, R(2). If you entered the code correctly, a message will appear.
# Faster car
