Default Pay as you go broad band.

Does such a thing exist?
Having just moved in to a house for my second year at uni we are considering getting broadband. The house has connections in each room, a router and a ASDL modem (just needs plugging in). Broadband companies seem to only do yearly contracts, which we don't want as we are only going to be in the house till the end of June. Also, can anyone suggest a provider that does unlimited broadband relatively cheaply (apart from AOL)?
Thanks

Be careful though, most 1 monthers want big setup fees.

They do; Virgin however dont. £25 per month no contract and no set up fees; and a modem and two filters for a tenner! So far Ive had no obvious contention problems and no service issues bar a few line synch errors. Id recommend them.

£25 shared over a house will be what... £6 per month or less?

Thank's for your advice. We've decided that PAYG seems to be a more expensive option, as does monthly contracts (set up fees). Looks like we will probably go for AOL's basic broadband one as it's unlimited, so no arguements as to who's used up all the download allowance.
Thanks again,
Bex

Please pay a couple of pounds a month more and use a better ISP than AOL!

http://www.solo.pipex.net/xtreme-sol...ervice=solo500

£23.44 a month, and if you cancel with in the first 12 months then you have to pay £58.75 which is the BT activation fee's. IIRC Pipex are only a 1 month contract as well.

Checkout plusnet

http://www.plus.net/products/broadband_home.html

Not sure what the setup fees are these days but only £15 for a 1MB line rental (per month). Thats for 1GB per month, I'm paying £20 for 4GB per month, easy to adjust usage up and down.

very good service, loads of facilities etc.

Rich

Edited to say - its a hell of a lot cheaper than pipex
