Question AV Software

Yes, I have done a search on this BBS and seen whats been said

My parents machine is sh@gged, looks like boot sector virus but then again it could still be a H/W fault.

Its been a while since I was in IT doing this sort of stuff on a daily basis.

I am looking for someone who can recommend any good AV program WITH the ability to make a bootable floppy disk to check this PC.

I have McAffee, but for some reason it cannot read the boot sector.

I have tried fdisk /mbr which ran ok, but on reboot problems still there.

TIA for any help.

Buck

a great free AV with a boot time scan is Avast. Updates are automatic and free, runs as a screensaver if you want ... check it out here.
