Anyone got an Apple 12" PowerBook?
My 15" Titanium hinges are on their way out and the combo's packed up so am thinking on the 12" and using an extra TFT for video editing etc. Just wondering if anyone here's got one and have any feedback.
Thanks!

Mike, ive got an 867 12" and I love it, I wanted portability ultimately and it serves that purpose well, I use it mainly for music making and I needed to up the RAM to get garageband to work well but other than that its great hang my midi controller keyboard of it, run my guitar into it via an imic and its way cool!

I've got the 12" Titanium Powerbook. At first I was a bit unsure about the screen size and thought it would be too small, but the clarity is fantastic - it's the best laptop screen I've ever seen. Having said that, I always hook it up to a studio display monitor in the office, so when I do use the laptop screen it's at home and only usually for 3 hours at the most in one session!
As for the laptop itself, it's brilliant. CD-RW, DVD, Bluetooth, doesn't weigh much when lugging it around and the keyboard feels lovely. For the best performance it needs a bit of extra RAM. And OS X NEVER crashes.

He he. Just got my new 12" 1.33GHz 768Mb Superdrive PowerBook
OMG. It's fantastic! It's replaced my old 667 15" which is in the sick bay, the screen is twisted at the right hand hinge and is loose so it's only just going to last the file transfers.
It's so good. Thanks for the feedback and sorry I missed the special offer of one!!!

BTW, if anyone needs my old PB let me know, it's got to be worth something to someone who needs parts etc

Eeek...I've got a 667MHz Powerbook G4 titanium, and it is now 3 years old - should I be worrying about the hinges??????
Have to say, the titanium is now well and truly wearing off my case - starting to look a bit tatty!
£500 for a brand new 12" powerbook seems a bargain.....

Sorry to be slow replying, looks like my not very old D Link G604T DSL wireless router has packed up too so I'm on dial up
I was thinking about fixing the PB but I needed to be up and running with no delays, so maybe fixing and keeping could be an option if it's not too expensive to fix. Problem is that above the right hand hinge the two halves of the titanium screen casing have split apart a bit up to where the first screw is (about half an inch up from the hinge) so it may need some panel beating too.
I really would prefer to keep it if it was fixable for reasonable money, it's a great machine even with half of the titanium looking scruffy. Any specialists in here or anyone know anyone? BTW, that's not titanium coming off, it's the paint that they put on top so don't worry Imalch, it's quite normal.
Anyway, the new design looks like they've worked hard on the hinges and I'm going to keep my fingers crossed it lasts.
Right, now to figure why my router's not working.....
