Default Install Problem!!!Please help me.

Any ideas what i am doing wrong?
I am trying to install W2k on a new machine and all is going well till I reach the splash screen where the install hangs.
I've tried different ram, different hard disk, removing components to a bare CD and HD. Format HD as well.

MSI K7N2 Delta-L
256 2700 Crucial RAM
AMD 2500 Mobile
ATI 9500

It's on initial boot. Proceeds past POST to load windows, Windows screen loads with progress bar and hangs at 50% approximately, (between the O and F actually in microsoft ).

Never had this prob before.

I think it's trying to start up device drivers at that point.

try disabling USB & sound & network in the BIOS.

Once you've got win installed put SP4 on and correct drivers and retry.

Does the hard drive light keep going as if its still loading?

Does your graphics card have dual outputs?

when booting hit F8 and do a logged boot, you can then see which driver has failed to load.

Good luck

I cannot hear any activity from the HD. Graphics card has dual outs but no drivers loaded as it is a new install. 4 greens on the Motherboard indicator as if all is fine.

Well I'll try anything. Couldn't be the CPU could it? It's a AMD 2500mobile.
