Default MSCE's MCSA's etc

I know there are few of you on here myself included

What i want to know is, do you actually get anything from Microsoft (certificate etc) as I did mine over two years ago, and havent heard diddly squat from them ever !

I only have my pass results, plus my online transcript

The only reason Im asking now, is that I did an exam today, and I got a couple of the win2k3 upgrade exams in the next few weeks

When you pass the exams, you should get a unique serial from the test centre.

Log onto; https://partnering.one.microsoft.com and sign up using the serial. You can now request a welcome pack which will consist of badge, card, certificates (signed by Bill ) etc

You should get a welcome pack for each level you attain, you have to request it on the members site though, i.e. MCP, MCSA, MCSE. Includes a certificate, badge, card and some other crap. I cant even find mine anymore lying around somewhere in the house.

Im only bothered about it, as im on the look out for another job, and may get asked for proof etc

I noticed that some sneaky git has already registered me on the partner site, under my companies name & phone number, soon sorted that tho, its now back under my home address

Will request a welcome pack, and wait another two years LOL

Dont worry I have NO intention of using the badges, or having letters after my name

You now have a transcript sharing option that lets people see your official transcript online. Thats proof enough

I know the feeling David, I started doing some exams over two years ago, and this week was the first bit of free time I have had, so i thought I would do another

and its ironic that I chose to do a Microsoft exam as I have done virtually no MS stuff for the last 18 months

Incidently I dont really have all those accreditations

Ive never really been that bothered about getting the accreditations, as I know the stuff I do pretty much inside out, it does help with pay rises having them tho

Steve is so right. Having worked in IT for 12 years, I am quite proud that I have managed to avoid taking the Cisco exams as I have never seen it as a particular advantage and neither have my customers, who prefer 12 years of experience! There is a danger that people new to the industry collect all these qualifications from boot camps but don't know how to use it. The only exceptions I've made are where the qualifications are for specific areas i.e. Security. I've done Checkpoint CCSE & CCSA and I'm currently studying for CISSP.

The paper bit is pointless IMO.

I've said before that the IT market is flooded with under experienced so called IT Professional as they have attended an MCSE, MCSA etc. training course and they thing that they can command the same pay as someone that has been in the job for 5 years. Crazy

I've been in IT for 6 years and am yet to attend any exams, I've never really seen the point, experience wins hands down.
