Question "Proper" Internet Browsing via mobile

Hi,

I require a device to give me proper Web Browsing on the move, with as quick a connection as possible. I've done some research but thought some bods in her emight know more.

Basically I need to know if either of both of The Treo 600 and Motorola MPX 200 have any problems accessing secure sites, and whether they are suitable for the purpose.

As I say the main requirement is time critical web browsing.

Any help much appreciated.

Gamm.

What I mean is that most sites can be accessed, not merely WAP sites. Thanks for your "useful" comments!

Unless I am mistaken, most sites have to be effectively redesigned (or use some S/W) for the site to actually work on a mobile phone. Standard for web site design is 800 x 600 and not 6 x 4! So its not just a question of access, but whether or not the site caters for mobile phone use.

Regards!

I would imagine the SE P900 is currently your best bet. The included Opera browser includes "small screen rendering" which intelligently resizes portions of websites.

If money is no object, how about a subnotebook together with Vodafone's combined GPRS & 3G mobile data card?

Tell us a little more about what you are looking to do.

Had the Treo, gave it back, then got the P900, gave it back...

Now have the XDA II, very pleased with it..Maybe worth giving it a try...

Default More details.

I need to be able to quickly take advantage of generous odds on offer from the likes of LAdbrokes, William Hill, Corals, Betfair, etc.

It's for "investment opportunities"

I've got an mpx200. I've been having a play around with a beta of a new browser that renders normal web pages to a split screen layout. Seems to work ok. Another thing to bear in mind is viewing real pages will cost quite a lot in gprs charges...

Not too sure about secure sites though..
