I'd expect a 512k service from a 'decent' provider to be around £23 to £25 a month once you've added VAT.

Less than that, I'd be concerned too many sacrifices were being made on the infrastructure etc.

I was with GIO but cancelled - I can go with them but I got annoyed that they couldnt bill me monthly by dd and had to send me a written invoice every 3 months!

That was £18.95pm

what aboout Pipex ? Thats £23.44 per month (including VAT)
You also get 2 micro filters and a USB ADSL modem in th eprice. Ive not used them but Im considering signing up after reading rave reviews. I think they won the ISP of the year award..

For DSL providers I'd look at Eclipse, Titan, Pipex, Nildram or Zen.

As for Onspeed, if what you're downloading is already compressed, I wouldn't expect it to make of an impact.

I went for PIPEX last week too, good communications from them (email) keeping me up to date on the progress of the line.

Im on pipex too. Had a few outages here and there but mostly BT faults which they cant control. Free dialup number when ur ADSL is down which is good.
