Trying to download the lite version but doing searches for sites offering this has taken me to some very dodgy looking urls and I dont feel confident its a 'proper' version.
Can people recommend a good site to download it from?

you wont find it on the net anymore, the owner of kazaa has forced all the isp's to take the websites hosting the d/l down. you can however still download the lite version if you have the full kazaa installed. just do a search

and as a bonus you get a free virus with most of the mislabelled crap mascerading as films
use bt torrent, news groups or get someone to sort you out with dump access on a top site
(not that id know anything about that)

sorry overnet is $hite! takes days to get even a small MP3, I keep getting messages saying performance maybe hampered because Im running a firewall, err like hello why would I connect to the net and NOT run a firewall, its fecking worse than kazaa, takes about a week to get anything!

Could you please explain how to configure BT Torrnet, I've used it a few times and nothing ever downloaded. Kazaa is only good if you want a shed load of **** and virus.

Leigh how do you connect to the internet? If its via an adsl router for example then you need to make sure you do port forwarding from the router to the ip address of the pc you are downloading to. The ports to be forwarded are on the bit torrent site faq I think. Also make sure those ports are opened to the bit torrent app on any firewall you may have. Since I did this I get 40kb a sec download speed on some files and the majority of others come down at a minimum of 10kb/sec upwards. Before doing port forwarding I either didn't get a connection or it downloaded at 1kb/sec.

I have ADSL, via a wireless access and router, I'm a total novice when it comes to routers, so I think I probably ***** it up, again...... Will take a look at the site.

Leigh you should be able to configure your router through internet explorer using http://(insert ip address of router here) to connect to it.
Then there should be a tab or options page that allows you to do port forwarding. Its very simple once you know where the option is. Say for example the router is 10.0.0.1 and your pc is 10.0.0.2 then the port forwarding section will literally ask you to put in the ip address of the router then the port number to forward then the ip address to forward it to.
All it is doing is saying send this traffic directly to the pc with the bit torrent client on it.
