internet connection sharing -sporadic performance
#1
Hi all,
Just got NTL broadband. It goes into the host pc on USB, but I connect another client to this pc using another network card, hub etc. Now the internet connection sharing seems to work, well technically.
Some stuff seems fine - Kazzaa is charging away at a great rate of knots. However some stuff just seems to get stuck/hang up. An example is I was looking at the porsche website and it took blimmin ages to load up. It was fine on the host pc, but the client seems to occassionally struggle(no I wasnt thrashing Kazzaa at the time!)
Any ideas? the host pc has had all power offs etc disabled, so its not that.

Gordo - Andy said some websites were very slow to load or just hanging. That's what I'm getting at the moment on NTL so just guessing it might be affecting him as well... just a suggestion if that's okay with you

Hmm well I semi sorted it, erm maybe.
Ive been running a firewall on the host, and I dropped a load of the settings on that, and I think thats helped, but not sure.
scoobynet worked perfectly!
but other sites(generally more comlpicated ones) seem slower
