There have been issues with the NTL webmail today.

If possible, consider using pop3 and smtp to recieve/send your mails, it is much more robust as it doesn't rely on the sh1te backend webapps ntl seem to have.

They've got email problems at the mo (in case you hadn't noticed!).

I've still been able to get things through on and off today, just keep trying

On the whole, I find their service top notch with only a few outages. No complaints here

Issues with NTL full bl00dy stop!!

Pinging a server that is a shade under 2 miles down the road, average 120ms round trip!!!!!

......30 minutes on hold and I get through to a human.

......another 30 minutes later I get through to a human with a brain.

It would appear that our local router designed to handle a maximum of 200 concurrent connections is currently taking 600 concurrent connections due to high demand and requires re-load balancing, a works order has now been put in for this but please expect a turnaround of up to 30 days.

my response - "Your service is not fit for the purpose in which it has been sold me, I will not be expecting a bill for the next 30 days"

and to my shock and surprise they have agreed to put 30 days credit onto the bill!!

I have been having problems with ntl today.

Best thing to do, is check the server status page, if u have access.

NTL Server Status

"ntlworld Email Service - Intermittent
ntlhome internet customers attempting to receive their ntlworld email may currently be unable to do so due to a technical fault.

Our engineers are aware and are working towards a resolution as soon as possible.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause."

Thumbs up

I have to say in NTL defense that i think their service (600k bb service) has been really good. I have been with them for over 2/1/2 years and apart from 5 days where it was really slow due to upgrades on local router in cambridge(and they refunded me 5 days!) the service and uptime have been brilliant and only noticed 3 outages for less then 12 hours over 2/1/2 years I have been with them is excellent! Working in another isp i do respect NTL impressive uptime on their equipment compared to some other isp I can mention....

My dads BT open which has gone down at least 9 time in the 1 1/2 year i had it (longest outage 3 days) NTL bb service ****s all over BT.
The NTL customer service on the two ocassion I have used them have been excellent - I think NTL do deserve a pat on the back- web mails problems u will get that with any isp sooner or later but hopefully NTL will sort the issue.

Tsunami, with regards to connectivity, they are pretty good (as it should be, it's not hard to keep a line alive 24/7) As I say, the last time I rebooted my gateway was months ago, and ( but not check the connection logs for a while) It has had a connection 24/7.

Its the services NTL provide which let them down. There are constantly issues with their email service (ntlworld) and their DNS servers. Thus I have changed my DNS servers and have many backup email addresses. Can't comment on their webspace, I don't use it.

You need WebProxyProbe

Its free.. just paste all the known ntl server addresses and it will ping them all, and automatically update your IE with the fastest one.

I usually end up with between 9ms and 13ms
